Coca-Cola Soccer Team

15, December 2009

The coca-cola soccer team is a very advanced soccer team. It is split up into the A and the B team. The A team being better. 2 weeks ago they had try outs from 5:30-7:00 pm, every Wednesday. Trust me it's pretty exhausting. The coaches who decided the teams were Mr.Schwartz, Mr.Beech, Mr.Gareth, Mr.Lee, and Mr.Trapp. (My dad). This is the u-12 squad meaning that I was one of the oldest, which was good, because usually I'm one of the youngest and it's hard to make the A squad. Remember this is a league where schools compete. So basically the players are representing their school!

The coca-cola league is a great way to meet friends, and have fun although it's very competitive! First of all there is a league. And then there's a cup. In the league you can't get disqualified if you lose! Although the main point is to win, and score more goals. The cup is where the score doesn't matter. You just have to win the match. If you win you move on. If you lose you are disqualified! Sometimes the matches can be unfair, because sometimes they put a B team against an A team. Unfair, right?

Anyway the cup is sponsored by Greenfields milk, and the league is sponsored by coca-cola which works with Powerade. A drink soccer players need to boost up their soccer game! I've been in the coca-cola team lots of times already, and I'm hoping that this year it's going to be more exciting than all of my years that I've participated in. League games are usually played on Saturday, and cup games are usually always played on Sunday. I have no idea why they are played on separate days.

I have to say I'm very impressed with the teams this year, because the A, and B squads are really fascinating. I wonder if during the games they still have chocolate milk samples for greenfields. I have to admit they are pretty good! The referee's are really good, but sometimes they get too overwhelmed about the fouls. There are many people who wanted to be on the soccer team but of course there were cuts. I wish we could have as many people join, and make as many squads that we needed. I find it peculiar that some schools have more squads than the other schools.
