Inkheart (Characterization)

In the book Inkheart written by Cornelia Funke, Meggie and her father, and some former friends, who shouldn't be called friends. Oh yeah, and I forgot the sassy aunt Elinor.
I choose Dustfinger as one of the most interesting characters, because in the middle of the adventures, Dustfinger develops into one of the most deep characters.

One point is that, in the beginning of the book Dustfinger was so calm, greedy, and cool, obviously expressing his feelings to Meggie about how he feels. In this line "Dustfinger looked first at Mo, then at Meggie, with an expression of incredulity on his face. "You haven't told her?" Said Dustfinger, (Trying to give away Mo's secret, that he can read people out of books, and read things into books)" Cornelia Funke obviously wanted to give away, the secret.

In another page Cornelia Funke, shows Dustfingers caring side, and how much he wants his normal life back. But Mo wants to read back his wife from the book, without even knowing if she really is in the book, or is somewhere else. In the chapter there was a quote, "Dustfinger carefully pulled up Gwin from the ground, seeing that he's tired. He carefully struck his tail the way he liked it." I think this shows how much Dustfinger cares about Gwin.
Here Dustfinger is really stressed, and aggressive. "How could you, How could you, that was the last copy, the only chance to get me back in the book, you fool!!!"
Then Dustfinger kicks one of the guards knee, and tries to pull the book out of the fire, but apparently his hands can't resist the heat anymore!!!
This book "Inkheart" is one exciting book, with incredible journeys especially half way around the world. Dustfinger is one of the most incredible characters I have ever seen, grow so strongly into a strong life saving man!
